a day at the fair

October 13, 2011 § 1 Comment

Fall weather meant one thing to me as a kid in eastern North Carolina, and that thing was the county fair. For one evening every October, my family would head over to the fairgrounds to do things we normally never did, like sliding down slides on burlap sacks, eating sugary snacks, and playing silly games for prizes. Though it’s been years since I’ve been, these fair-style finds help me feel like I haven’t missed it at all.
